A common occurrence characterized by shiny, and sometimes dull colored skin. The common causes fall into two major classes, those
originating from internal conditions and those originating from an external condition. Some causes are heredity, hormone levels (including, pregnancy, menopause, and birth control pills), some cosmetics and lotions, humidity, and hot weather.

contact with common, generally tolerated substances. Some Allergic
reactions are mild creating irritation which heals through the bodies own
mechanisms after the substance is removed, while others can be severe
resulting in a condition requiring further treatment.
Collections of pigment caused by repeated and prolonged exposure to the sun. Pigment is deposited as the body’s response to injury similar to a scar forming after a cut. The pigment collects as a reaction to repeated prolonged sun exposure. The pigment is intending to mediate the effect the sun has on the surface of the skin. They generally occur as people pass the age of 55, and although usually occurring on the hands they can appear anywhere.
